Guys Guys Guys..! Seems we have been delt a wrong hand with the D980. I have had to replace my touchscreen three times now. The third time I literally did it myself and the only reason I went through that was becuase my data was stuck in the phone as my laptop had crushed at the same time and needed my contacts.

Answer for the screen is, you have to put a little meat into that separation. Use a very thin star screwdriver and pry the apart. After that clean the surface where you going to place the new screen VERY well.

Hi Dirk,

Danke for your comment!
As I already had the new replacement touchscreen, I wasn't so gentle when removing the old one. I recall that I used a little pressure and perhaps a little screwdriver wrapped in cloth.
check out this picture: <img src="http://fulop.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/step2.jpg?w=592" alt="SGH D980 Screen repacement" />

Take care!

Hello Alexandru,

It seems I have to replace the touchscreen of my 980D as well. After dropping my phone by accident, the touchscreen started giving me problems. I disassembled the phone (wasn't a problem) and found that inside everything looks OK. After reassembly everything was as it was before, the touch basically works but it doesn't take the touch where it should. Can't even get into the menu because of the mismatch of touch and icon. So here is my actual question. How did you separate the touchscreen from the front frame? It seems it is glued in. I am thinking of using a hot air blower ot similar to get the glue soft. How did you do it?

Greetings and thanks!

I wish I would have found Your comment before I found the reboot code. My phone was kind of still working before I put in the code and unfortunetly cant use it anymore. And I bought it from another country so its hard to use the warranty. At least good to know that there is no point to try to get it working.
